The Bible is Full of Thousands of God’s Promises

  • This might come as a surprise if you’re used to feeling as if the entire Bible is a strict rule book meant to oppress you versus give you joy and life.

  • In addition, God always keeps His promises.

    • Numbers 23:19 (NLT) says, “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” 

    • Psalm 146:6 (NLT) says, “He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.”


1. God has Plans to Prosper You and Give You Hope 

Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG): "I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for."


2. God Promises to Give You Rest 

Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG): “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Philippians 4:19 (NLT): “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:28 (NLT): “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT): “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort.
