Jesus Was Born Into Human History
He did this to willingly die for our sins on the cross
Romans 5:8: “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you. (Ref. Romans 5:8)
John 15:13: “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
Jesus Invites Us to Lay Down Our Burdens
Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT): “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.’ ”
Jesus talks about giving our lives to Him on a daily basis.
Jesus Treated Women Differently Than the Culture
Note: Listen to Episode #64 as it provides more details.
Jesus didn’t look down on women.
Jesus didn’t adhere to the cultural belief that women could not, or should not, be educated.
He had women in His circle. In fact, several women financially supported his ministry through the profits of their businesses or their personal wealth.
A woman was the first person to see the resurrected Jesus.
On at least two occasions, Jesus told a woman something before He shared it with others - including His male disciples.
The first time Jesus openly admitted that He was the Messiah was to the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:25-26).
Outside her brother’s tomb, Lazarus’s sister Martha was the first one to hear Jesus say that He was the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25-27). In response, Martha stated that she believed Jesus was the Messiah and the Son of God.
