Have you ever struggled with reading Genesis (where God created Eve to co-rule with Adam) and the rest of the Bible (where women are oppressed and treated as property)?
Have you ever wondered why Jesus didn’t touch on this disparity during His earthly ministry?
I used to! But as it turns out, when one really digs into Scripture – with additional cultural context - it’s clear that Jesus actually defied Jewish culture, lifted women up, and treated them with equality. I just needed some help to see it. ….
God calls us to operate from a place of rest, trusting in Him to bless and multiply our work. Yet, between culture and tough life experiences, we can come to accept overwhelming loads as “normal.”
(To the point where we can even unconsciously *aim* for it.)
But in order to serve Jesus - and love ourselves - to the fullest, we should ONLY take on what’s realistic AND in line with our current calling. ….

Abusive childhoods, bad relationships, and inaccurate teaching can cause us to have a skewed view of God’s character. ….
Being an empowered Christian woman means making decisions based on your identity in God first and foremost.
In other words, your choices need to be grounded in WHO you are (and WHO you belong to) over WHAT you’ve experienced.
But if that’s the case, what do you do with that deep wound, victim mindset, or survivor mentality that tends to dictate your decision-making instead? ….

That no one will ever understand the specific challenges or traumas that you’ve faced? Do you believe that you’re simply too different for others to get?
